S11A - Assessing Diabetes Complications and Utilization of Diabetes Self-management Education

Previous research indicates that the utilization of Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) is generally low. However, the relationship between diabetes complications and DSMES utilization remains underexplored. This session reviews a study to examine whether the presence of diabetes complications increases the likelihood of DSMES utilization among Medicare enrollees aged 65 and older in Arkansas.
