Recently we have seen an increase in the availability of different insulins on the market and a rise in the use of generic medication. This session aims to educate the diabetes care and education specialist about newer insulin analogs and concentrated insulins to enhance their knowledge and confidence in recommending, prescribing, and adjusting insulin to optimize diabetes management. They will cover the pharmacokinetics, safety, efficacy, dosing and indications for the different insulins, including concentrating and inhaled formulations. Presenters will also highlight developments in the once-weekly-dosing landscape and review the ADA Insulin Treatment Algorithm. In addition, attendees will learn the difference between biosimilars and generics.
